GlideWise installation manual v1.3 (Last updated: 20/03/2025)
Updates:
- Alpha units required a 3.5A fuse or circuit breaker. New units only require a 2A fuse.
- Units delivered from late March 2025 will contain a 50cm FLARM cable (RJ45-RJ12) in the box instead of 30cm.
- Attention: we supply IGC-standard cables with 1:1 pin assignment. The LX Nav S8/S80/S10/S100 units do not feature an RJ45 socket with a standard IGC pin assignment. Please do not connect our supplied cables to your LX Nav S8/S80/S10/S100 devices, as this may cause damage. You will require a specific cable, which can be ordered from Navboys. Plug the IGC-standard end into the GlideWise unit and the special LX Nav end into their unit.
- Additional installation guidance:
- Please dry-fit your unit before removing the adhesive backing.
- As far forward as practical means avoiding interfering with the vent, if present, and allowing for the flasher to conform to the canopy shape. As per the illustrations provided, the flasher was not designed to be fitted right on the edge of the canopy but a few centimetres back. Test the placement before fixing it to the canopy.
- Please ensure the front-opening canopy connector (mini-XLR) is secured under the instrument coaming as instructed. Note that the canopy end of the cable should not be tied down to the fuselage; only the control box end should be tied down.
